After Jesus washed everyone's feet (including Judas'), he sat down. Now that He had everyone's undivided attention, he was ready to teach them another lesson they should learn from His actions.
Philippians 2:2-4
Fulfill ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind. Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves. Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others. Now, it’s our turn.
The washing of feet prophesies the cleansing flood released at Calvary, the basin, His body on earth; the communion meal conveys the sustenance of Jesus’ love made manifest on the cross. These are mercies unimagined, disorienting to our natural sensibilities, until Jesus reveals them to us.
Inward cleansing must accompany the outward washing.

"No Lone Range"
When You Think About IT

Many men have a "Lone Ranger mentality". They live with the belief that they can right the wrongs, beat the world into submission, but successful at everything--and never need anyone's help along the way. The mask they wear is the mask of denial. The silver bullets they roll in their fingers are engraved with the word egotist.
When Jesus sent the disciples out on their first short missionary journey, He sent them two by two. It wasn't to get better hotel rates or to have argumentative advantage in the sharing of their faith. It was for mutual support and encouragement when things were not gong well. He did not want them to be alone in the calling to follow Him.
God has created us to hunger for relationships. When you deny that humger, you endanger your own emotional and spiritual well-being.
